Dj Sithelo Shozi quits DJing to pursue television opportunities
Well known DJ Sithelo Shozi, who is now based in Johannesburg to pursue opportunities in the television industry, has revealed that she will never be seen DJing again—even though it is one of the things that made her famous.
Sithelo stated that her current focus is on being a television presenter, as well as building and strengthening her family since she recently got engaged.
She was speaking on Tuesday during the launch of the show The Masked Singer South Africa, in Randburg, Johannesburg.
The show will premiere on July 4th on SABC 2.
She mentioned that she is looking forward to securing more work in the television presenting space, which is something she has wanted since she was still living in Durban.
“My life is exactly where I wanted it to be. I am very happy to be doing the job I have long wished for. Being a presenter was one of the things I loved the most. When this opportunity came up, I was incredibly happy, grabbed it with both hands, and made use of it. It didn’t end there, as things are going well in my personal life too. I am highly focused on raising my children now that I have my own little family. I am happy; I just got engaged recently, which is a huge milestone for me,” said Sithelo.
She added that as her dreams are beginning to come true, her fans will no longer see her in the music industry.
“Oh, you see, people will never see me playing in clubs or anywhere else again because I am completely done with being a DJ. It is not even something I think about, not even in my sleep. I have passed that stage—I will never go back to it,” Sithelo said.
She was recently engaged to a man revealed to be Kudzaishe James Magura, a Zimbabwean-born businessman based in South Africa.
The young woman was proposed to by the tycoon last month in Italy, where it emerged they were on vacation.
