The Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Investigation Unit is urgently appealing to the public for assistance as the manhunt intensifies for a dangerous fugitive wanted for rape, conspiracy to commit murder, and targeting women online.
On Sunday, 11 May 2025, at approximately 14:00, Kopanong police responded to an incident at Muirfield Flats, North End Street, Navalsig. The 35-year-old victim had met a man using the alias “Shane Carson” on Facebook. The suspect invited the victim to his residence for a first date.
Upon her arrival, he served her juice, which caused her to feel severely disoriented and physically exhausted. The suspect then forced the victim into the bathroom, where he raped her. The victim bravely managed to escape the flat after convincing the suspect to let her step outside for fresh air.
Following an intensive investigation, the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court has issued a formal warrant of arrest for 32-year-old Lloyd McDonald Siswe Jacobs.
Investigations have revealed that Jacobs actively uses Facebook and other social media platforms under various false identities to lure, drug, and attack unsuspecting women. Furthermore, he is concurrently wanted by the Parkweg SAPS for a separate case involving conspiracy to commit murder after he allegedly threatened to kill the investigating officer.
The police urge the public to exercise extreme caution when interacting with or meeting individuals from social media.
The investigating team is appealing to anyone who may have been a victim of this suspect, or anyone who knows his current whereabouts, to immediately contact Detective Sergeant Richard Dlanga of Provincial Serious and Violent Crime Investigation on 0710991466 or Colonel Ben Bolsiek on 0824668530, call Crime Stop line 0860010111, or drop an anonymous tip-off on MySapsApp
Do not attempt to confront the suspect yourself, as he is considered dangerous. All information received will be treated with the absolute strictest confidentiality.
