Kaizer Chiefs have officially announced the appointment of Bheki Shongwe as the club’s new Group Chief Executive Officer.
The appointment takes effect from May 2026. Shongwe is not new to Amakhosi. He previously served as the club’s Managing Director between 2009 and 2012.
He is also currently a non-executive director on the Chiefs board. The Glamour Boys confirmed that Shongwe will now oversee the club’s day-to-day operations.
He will report directly to Chairman Kaizer Motaung and the board of directors.
Chiefs also revealed that Shongwe will work closely with department heads and assist Motaung with the overall running of the organisation.
The club believes his previous experience and deep understanding of the organisation make him the right man to help lead Chiefs into a new era.
“We welcome Mr Shongwe back to the Amakhosi fold and wish him every success in his new role,” the club said in a statement.
The appointment comes at an important time for Chiefs as the club continues rebuilding both on and off the field following several difficult seasons.
