A Malawian-registered bus travelling from Gauteng has been involved in a serious accident on the N1 highway near the Witvlag turn-off outside Makhado this evening.
The Limpopo Department of Transport has confirmed an unconfirmed number of fatalities, with the exact death toll and number of injured passengers still being verified as rescue operations continue.
The highway has been closed in both directions, causing major delays. Emergency services are on scene.
