The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has deepened, with entire families wiped out by ongoing Israeli air raids. Among the victims was Mohammed Ahmad, his wife Shayma, and their young daughters Sara and Tala, who were killed when their home was struck. At Al Shifa Hospital, grief-stricken relatives mourned as yet another family was added to the growing toll of this war.
Since October 2023, more than 64,000 Palestinians have been killed, with tens of thousands more wounded. Israel’s campaign began after the Hamas-led attack on October 7, which left over 1,100 Israelis dead and around 200 taken captive.
Just since dawn on Tuesday, at least 33 people were killed in Gaza. Strikes on homes, neighborhoods, and even shelters claimed the lives of more than 100 Palestinians, including journalists.
European leaders are facing pressure over their response. Spain’s Prime Minister called Europe’s handling of the war a “failure” that undermines its global standing. Belgium has announced strong measures, including sanctions on Israel, an expanded arms embargo, and a ban on Israeli goods and services.
The humanitarian disaster continues to grow, with Gaza’s children enduring war, hunger, and trauma daily.
Regional Tensions Rise
The United Arab Emirates has warned Israel that any move to annex parts of the occupied West Bank would cross a “red line.” Officials cautioned that such actions would threaten the foundations of the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between the two countries.
The UAE reiterated its stance in support of a Palestinian state and said this position has not changed since the agreements were signed in 2020.
