The National Coloured Congress (NCC) has noted with deep concern the sudden allegations leveled against Minister Gayton McKenzie regarding the alleged use of the “K-word.”
We cannot ignore the striking timing of these claims. They come at a moment when our
own leader has recently been chastised and punished for the use of language — and
now, another prominent Coloured leader finds himself in the cross-hairs.
This pattern raises serious questions about whether influential Coloured voices are being
systematically targeted and silenced.
The NCC stands firmly against racism in any form, but we equally reject the westernization of allegations to discredit and weaken leaders who dare to speak boldly
for their communities. Allegations, especially those as serious as this, must be tested on the facts — not used as tools for political assassination.
We call on the South African Human Rights Commission to prioritize and expedite its investigation so that Minister McKenzie can be cleared without delay.
The longer this matter drags on, the more it fuels speculation, division, and mistrust. Minister McKenzie must be given a fair opportunity to clear his name.
We will not stand idly by while the credibility of Coloured leaders is systematically attacked under the guise of moral outrage. This is not just about Minister McKenzie — it is about the broader struggle for fair representation, respect, and dignity for our communities.
