A domestic dispute took a dangerous turn in Mhlasini, KwaZulu-Natal, when a man allegedly attempted to kill himself and his wife by crashing his vehicle on Sunday morning.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the incident on Hazelmere Road at approximately 09h42.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a brown Nissan SUV lodged in a bush along the roadside.
According to the 49-year-old female passenger, she and her husband were traveling from Cottonlands to Mhlasini when she found women’s clothing in his vehicle.
As the confrontation escalated, the man allegedly threatened to take both their lives.
He then veered off the road, seemingly aiming for a tree, but instead struck a boulder, bringing the car to a halt.
