Bothitong police arrest suspect for murder

KIMBERLEY – The Bothitong police arrested a 39-year-old suspect for murder following the discovery of the body of a 22-year-old female in a culvert on the Cassel/Louwna road in Bothitong  on Tuesday, 07 January 2025.

The police preliminary investigations indicates that the victim was allegedly assaulted at the suspect’s house in Cassel village, tied up, transported in the boot of a vehicle and dumped under the culvert.

The suspect will appear in the Mothibistad Magistrates Court on Friday, 10 January 2025.

The Northern Cape Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Koliswa Otola praised the investigating team for the swift response and ensuring that perpetrators of Gender Based Violence and Femicide are brought to book.
