Media Statement POLOKWANE – The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the police and cross border members for their collaborative efforts in preventing cross border crime in Vhembe District. This follows the confiscation of two vehicles, one boat and the arrest of 4 suspects for contravention of Immigration Act next to Limpopo River at Masisi policing precinct. The arrests were effected during a cross-border operation on Monday, 06 January 2025. Roadblocks, stop-and-searches, and cross-border road patrols were used in the Masisi policing region to carry out the operation. The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has welcomed the arrest and praised the collaboration between police and Cross border, Business Forum and Farmers Union members that resulted in the confiscation of the vehicles, thus fighting cross border crime. The suspects are expected to appear at their local magistrates’ court soon. The police investigations are still ongoing. Ends
