Media Statement NORTHERN CAPE -The Kimberley Specialised Commercial Crime Court found a 44-year-old Latiefa de Saldahna guilty on 248 counts of fraud and 245 counts of money laundering on Monday, 06 August 2024. The accused was arrested on the 17 February 2023 by the Hawks Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team after receiving a complaint regarding malpractices conducted by Da Saldana Rossburg Enterprise,Kimberley. Between December 2017 and July 2018, the accused who was employed then as a cashier at Rossburg Enterprise in Kimberley, unlawfully and intentionally stole funds from the employer by purporting to have discounted goods and services purchased by entities and individuals. An internal investigation was conducted and the case was later referred to the Directorate for further probing. The employer suffered an actual loss amounting to R220 344.35. The matter is postponed to Thursday, 08 August 2024 for sentencing. Ends
