Following his departure from the beloved musical duo known as Murumba Pitch, Mathye Vho Murumba has been steadily carving out a distinct path as a solo artist.
Building upon previous releases like his EP Emmanuel and single Ithemba, the talented artist has returned with his third solo project: a vibrant, collaborative new single titled **“Ingoma Yam”.
Meaning “My Song” in isiZulu, Ingoma Yam is much more than just a catchy tune for the festive season—it is a statement of ownership, identity, and creative freedom.
“The title represents ownership, identity, and the freedom to express oneself through music,” Mathye explains. “For us, it is about creating a sound that reflects who we are as artists and the musical direction we want to take.”
Rather than standing entirely alone, the track highlights a collective effort from the Pitch Sounds family, bringing together talents such as Swiss Wrld, Crosswavee, Remmie, Ashley Shane, and KayMo Grillz. According to Mathye, the organic production process was designed to celebrate the collaborative energy and diverse skills within the label.

“Being part of a duo was an important chapter in my musical career, and it contributed to the experience and foundation I carry with me today,” he shares. However, going solo has allowed him to challenge himself creatively and explore new sonic possibilities while remaining anchored to his musical roots. “It is my song, my expression, and part of the sound I am building as Mathye Vho Murumba, also known as Murumba Pitch.”
With Ingoma Yam now out to lift moods, energize listeners, and soundtrack festive celebrations, Mathye is already looking firmly toward the future.
