Betway Premiership Match Reports: Chiefs draw, Pirates, Sundowns and AmaZulu win

Orlando Pirates 3-0 TS Galaxy

Venue: Orlando Amstel Arena

Scorers: Boitumelo Radiopane (18′), Tshepang Moremi (50′), Simphiwe Masilela (76′)

Pirates bounced back strongly from their MTN8 final loss to Mamelodi Sundowns. Radiopane opened the scoring with a tap-in after Oswin Appollis cut the ball back.

Moremi made an immediate impact off the bench early in the second half, and Masilela completed the scoring.

Galaxy (without Bernard Parker on the bench; Esau Mtsweni in charge) created little and remain winless in recent outings. Pirates stay firmly in the title race.

Kaizer Chiefs 1-1 Stellenbosch

Venue: FNB Stadium

Scorers: Sinoxolo Kwayiba (48′ – Stellenbosch), Mduduzi Shabalala (58′ – Chiefs)

A frustrating night for Chiefs, who remain unbeaten but dropped more points. Stellenbosch took the lead early in the second half through Kwayiba (who had hit the woodwork in the first half). Shabalala equalised with a fine finish. Chiefs created chances (including a good save from Sage Stephens on Wandile Duba) but could not find a winner against a solid Stellies side that has troubled them recently.

Richards Bay 1-4 Mamelodi Sundowns

Venue: Princess Magogo Stadium

Scorers: Tashreeq Matthews (18′), Lwandile Mabuya (22′ – Richards Bay), Iqraam Rayners (37′, 48′), Fawaaz Basadien (59′)

Sundowns carried their MTN8 momentum into the league and cruised to a comfortable away win. Matthews opened the scoring, Mabuya briefly equalised for the hosts, then Rayners scored a brace either side of half-time before Basadien sealed it. Sundowns dominated possession and chances, extending their strong start at the top of the table.

Durban City 1-2 AmaZulu

Venue: Chatsworth Stadium

Scorers: Mlondi Mbanjwa (7′), Athini Maqokolo (45+1′ – AmaZulu), H. Domingo (72′ – Durban City)

AmaZulu secured their fourth consecutive league victory. Mbanjwa struck early and Maqokola doubled the lead just before half-time. Durban City pulled one back through Domingo after the break, but it was not enough. The result keeps AmaZulu firmly in the top three.

Results: Orlando Pirates 3-0 TS Galaxy; Kaizer Chiefs 1-1 Stellenbosch; Richards Bay 1-4 Mamelodi Sundowns; Durban City 1-2 AmaZulu
