2nd Annual King Thulare III Charity Golf Day Underway in Steelpoort
The greens of the Tubatse Chrome Golf Club are buzzing with activity today as golfers, corporate leaders, and community members gather for the 2nd Annual King Thulare III Charity Golf Day.
The prestigious event is hosted by the Gladcon Africa Foundation in partnership with the Office of Her Majesty, Queen Manyaku Thulare Leganabatho II of the Bapedi Kingship.
This year’s tournament serves as a major highlight on the Sekhukhune sports calendar, carrying forward the visionary legacy of the late King Victor Thulare III.
The core mandate of today’s tournament moves beyond sport, focusing heavily on youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and educational support.
All proceeds raised from the event will fund the construction of a state-of-the-art computer laboratory at Shorwane Secondary School.
Nelson L. Ratau, chairman of the Gladcon Africa Foundation, emphasized that giving rural learners access to technology is vital for preparing them for modern tertiary education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Her Majesty, Queen Manyaku Thulare Leganabatho II, is attending as the Guest of Honour.
The event has successfully drawn backing from a vast network of local businesses, mining houses, and national sponsors, including Burgersfort Toyota, NKZ Investment Group, and Lancet Laboratories.
Participants on the field are competing in a Better Ball Stableford format. Alongside the golfing action, guests are being treated to lifestyle amenities, including specialized health and beauty spa pop-ups.
Following a full day on the fairways, the event will transition to the Thaba Moshate Hotel Casino and Convention Resort in Burgersfort this evening.
The formal segment will culminate in a Black Tie and Traditional elegant gala dinner, featuring an official prize-giving ceremony and a charity fundraising auction to secure final resource milestones for the school lab project.
