12 goals in four games as Betway Premiership delivers another thriller

The Betway Premiership produced another high-scoring night as 12 goals were scored across four matches on Wednesday.
Mamelodi Sundowns closed the gap on Orlando Pirates after beating AmaZulu 5-2, while Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 2-2 draw by Richards Bay.

The 12 goals followed the 11 scored across Tuesday’s four matches.

Chiefs were once again punished by poor goalkeeping, with Brandon Petersen struggling to deal with Richards Bay’s attacks.
Nqaba Xulu scored twice for the Natal Rich Boyz, while Lebohang Maboe converted a penalty and Siphesihle Ndlovu scored for Chiefs.
Sundowns appeared to be cruising after Bryan Leon and Teboho Mokoena put them 2-0 ahead before half-time.

AmaZulu responded through Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya after the break.

Tashreeq Matthews restored Sundowns’ two-goal advantage before Leon completed his brace.
Ngwenya also scored his second goal, but Sundowns had the final say through another goal scored by Bennet Mokoena.
Golden Arrows added to Stellenbosch FC’s difficult start to the season with a 1-0 win, thanks to Junior Dion’s 70th-minute strike.

Polokwane City and Milford FC played out the only goalless draw of Matchday 4.
