Zulu King summons maskandi star Sminofu over controversial new track “Emachobeni”
Maskandi singer Mphile “Sminofu” Gumede is at it again
This time around, the Izipikha hitmaker is embroiled in a nasty feud with Zulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini over his latest song titled Emachobeni.
Emachobeni is the Royal House of Queen Nomzamo Myeni in Jozini, located in the far north of KwaZulu-Natal.
The song Emachobeni was released on Friday.
King Misuzulu was on the news after a video of him drunk and swearing at his wife Queen Nomzamo and questioning her on what she was building in Emachobeni Royal House.
King Misuzulu’s spokesperson, Mpiyakhe Buthelezi, said that the Zulu royal house has listened to the track and decided to summon the musician
“Zulu royal house matters need to be respected. It is not a public matter, and I have called the musician to tell him that. He will need to come with his chief (inkosi) to the royal palace to explain why he released a song about Zulu royal affairs,” Buthelezi said.
Buthelezi added that while a date for the hearing has not yet been set, it will take place soon.
Sminofu is well-known in the music industry for quickly turning viral, sensational news into trending hits. He previously achieved this with tracks like Imali Yase Absa.
He is also famous for the song Izipikha, which referenced a well-known Reverend from the Shembe Nazareth Baptist Church who was accused of stealing church funds meant for loudspeakers.
Attempts to get comment from Sminofu proved fruitless as his phone rang unanswered.
