Media Statement UPINTON – Operation Shanela activities in the ZFM District conducted during the week yielded positive results. The swift response by members of Kakamas SAPS resulted in the arrest of two females found in possession of a substantial amount of dagga on Wednesday, 25 September 2024. The members operationalised information received about the two women carrying large bags, and upon searching, the police discovered dagga amounting to R 603 750. 00. The duo, aged 32 and 40 respectively, were arrested for dealing in dagga. During other operations, conducted on Friday, 27 September 2024, illegal liquor outlets were raided in Paballelo and Rosedale area where liquor amounting to a total value of R11 000.00 was seized and fines to the amount of R1500 issued. The relentless efforts by members to continue with the fight against crime in the district were commended by the management. Ends
