Media Statement UPINGTON – Police members attached to Crime Intelligence, Upington Border Police and ZF Mgcawu Task team continue with persistent efforts to remove drugs from the streets through crime Intelligence driven operations. Operation Shanela activities conducted in the ZF Mgcawu District led to the arrest of five suspects for dealing in drugs in various areas between 23 and 24 April 2024. The police conducted search and seizure operations following information received about alleged drug dealing at the identified premises. The information was operationalised, which led to the confiscation of drugs including mandrax, tik and dagga to the total estimated street value of R29 919.00 as well as cash that is believed to be the proceeds of crime. The five male suspects, aged between 22 and 36 are expected to appear in court soon. Ends
