Media Statement KIMBERLEY – The Provincial Custody and Exhibit Management session was held on Wednesday, 10 July 2024, at the Sandile Present Library in Upington. Pastor Leonardo Titus of Spiritual Crime Prevention opened the session with the devotion and prayer. The programme was led by the Provincial Head of Pro-Active Policing, Brigadier Irene Kopeledi, under the command of the Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Policing, Major General Luntu Ngubelanga. The programme was attended by the Acting District Commissioner of ZFM, Brigadier Monica Sebili, who formally welcomed the attendees. The Provincial Management, Station Commanders, Vispol Commanders, FLASH officials, and SAP 13 clerks formed part of the session. The South African Reserve Bank, Currency Management Department, gave a presentation raising awareness on Currency Authenticity as ZFM district, was identified following an arrest that was effected recently for alleged possession or distribution of counterfeit currency. Major General Ngubelanga aluded that the police must maintain integrity and encouraged the commanders to take charge and accountability in their areas of command. In conclusion, Gen Ngubelanga stated that we must adopt the “back to basics” principle. The session continued with presentations from different departmental heads, giving guidelines and training on exhibits safeguarding and custody management. Ends
