Woman Found Dead in Pit Toilet in Thohoyandou as Police Hunt Murder Suspect
Police in Thohoyandou have launched a murder investigation after a 40-year-old woman was found dead inside a pit toilet at her home in Ha-Lambani Mahagala.
The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local community after the woman’s body was found concealed beneath a blanket inside the pit toilet on Sunday morning.
According to police, the grim discovery was made at about 11:40 when the deceased was found at her residence. Family members raised the alarm and alerted community members before police and Emergency Medical Services personnel were called to the scene.
Emergency teams later retrieved the woman’s body from the pit toilet, where she had allegedly been hidden.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim had suffered injuries to her face and head, raising concerns that she may have been attacked before her death.
Following the discovery, detectives visited the home of a person believed to be linked to the incident. However, the suspect was not found at the location.
Police have since opened a case of murder and are continuing with efforts to locate and arrest the suspect.
