The spotlight is once again on Pretoria as the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry resumes its public hearings into allegations of criminality, political interference, and corruption within South Africa’s criminal justice system.

Presided over by former acting Deputy Chief Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga, the commission is hearing testimony from a protected witness, known only as “Witness A.” The witness is expected to shed light on how political pressure and misconduct may have influenced decisions within key law enforcement agencies.
The proceedings, taking place at the Brigitte Mabandla Justice College, have drawn national attention as citizens demand accountability and transparency in the institutions meant to uphold justice.
The inquiry forms part of broader efforts to restore public trust in the legal system and ensure that those in positions of authority are held responsible for any wrongdoing.
