Western Cape Provincial Extortion Task Team and Combat Team Detectives arrest suspects for Hermanus murder case

HERMANUS – Detectives attached to the Provincial Extortion Task Team and Provincial Combat Team, embarked on a wanted suspects tracing operation and arrested two suspects for a Hermanus murder case.

On 19 April 2024 at about 14:30, a shooting incident occurred at Mhobo Street Zwelihle Hermanus. Investigation into the shooting incident was conducted and the motive is alleged to be extortion. Detailed statements were obtained from eye witnesses. During a photo identification parade conducted all three suspects were positively identified by the witnesses.

On Saturday, 13 July 2024, at about 01:00, a joint operation was conducted and two suspects, aged 39 and 44, were arrested at Jacaranda Street Zwelihle Hermanus and detained at Macassar SAPS. The suspects will appear at the Hermanus Magistrates court on Tuesday 16 July 2024.

The search is still underway for the third suspect.
