Media Statement WELKOM – Police in Welkom are requesting assistance in locating the family of a deceased coloured male. The man’s body was found hanging from a tree near Lakeview pan, Welkom on Wednesday, 02 April 2025, at about 18:49 At the time of discovery, the deceased person was wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, and brown shoes. He has a tattoo of a baby hand holding and an adult hand on his left inner forearm. The word chill tattooed on his left upper arm and a big tattoo on his left leg. He has a well-kept clean beard and a moustache. He is estimated to be aged between 20 and 30. Police are investigating an Inquest. Police are urging anyone with information that could help identify the deceased person to contact Warrant Officer Riaan De Lange of the Welkom Detective Services on cellphone number 0828219227 or the Crime Stop Number 08600 10111 or alternatively information can be sent anonymously on the MySAPS App. Ends
