Media Statement ODENDAALSRUS – Members of Anti-Gang Unit operationalised information about drugs in Odendaalsrus. The information was operationalised on 12 March 2024 at about 14:00 which led the team to a parking area of a grocery store in Odendaalsrus CBD where a male was found selling drugs. He was approached and Nyaope drugs, six packet and five Crystal meth sachets and cash that amounts to R255 were found in his possession. A 29-year-old man was arrested for dealing in drugs. Members proceeded to flats and observed a suspicious person who ran away when he saw Police officers. He was chased and when caught, he was taken to a rented flat. While members were busy searching the flat, a ball of Nyaope drug was found hidden inside electric wires. One Nyaope sachet which weighs 10 grams with cash that amounts to R360. A 34-year-old suspect was arrested for dealing with drugs. Both alleged drug dealers will appear soon in Odendaalsrus Magistrate’s Court. Ends
