Media Statement PETRUSBURG – The detectives in Petrusburg have arrested a wanted 24-year-old female for the illegal possession of ammunition. The arrest follows an incident on Tuesday, 08 April 2025, at approximately 10:30, during the execution of a warrant of arrest. The 24-year-old suspect was arrested on a warrant of arrest related to a charge of assault to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) for failing to attend court. When the arresting officer arrived at the court premises, he asked a female security official to conduct a search on the female suspect. During the search, the official requested the suspect’s backpack. Upon searching the bag, officials discovered three rounds of live ammunition: two rifle rounds and one pistol round. The investigating officer was immediately informed of the discovery and subsequently added the illegal possession of ammunition charge. The suspect is expected to appear in the Petrusburg Magistrate’s Court soon on the charge of illegal possession of ammunition. Ends
