Thank you, Programme Director.
• Our esteemed Guest, the Minister of Police, Honourable Senzo Mchunu, MP Dumelang! Good Morning to you all! It is a tremendous honor to be part of this career-defining moment for our newly graduated South African Police Service (SAPS) trainee Constables. I am privileged to stand here today to deliver the vote of thanks as we conclude the SAPS 2024 Basic Police Development Learning Programme (BPDLP) passing out parade. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed guest, the Minister of Police, Honourable Senzo Mchunu. Your presence Sir is greatly appreciated and undoubtedly means a lot to the trainee Constables on parade, as well as to SAPS management. Your excellent leadership and guidance in all circumstances have been invaluable. I also want to express my sincere thanks to our National Commissioner, General Masemola, for hosting us today. We appreciate your overall leadership and support for all members of the SAPS, as well as for trainees across the country. A big thank you goes to the Human Resources Management Division personnel for supporting our organizational efforts to strengthen policing capacity. We acknowledge and appreciate the countless hours spent screening hundreds of thousands of applications to select the best candidates during the recruitment stage. Throughout the selection process, you ensured everything was executed properly as the trainees arrived at our academies nationwide. Your hard work is highly valued. To the Division of Human Resource Development, we are grateful for the training and administrative support you provided to ensure the success of this course. The preparations made—mentally, physically, operationally, and spiritually—culminated in the parades taking place across the country today. We will undoubtedly measure the impact of your efforts by the quality of work delivered by the Constables on parade. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the supporting divisions and components, as well as the organizing committee and teams that brought this parade to life, ensuring that the proceedings unfolded seamlessly. This is a moment our Constables will remember and cherish as a significant day in their policing careers To the family, friends, and loved ones of our Constables, thank you for traveling from near and far to offer your much-needed moral support and to witness this important event in the careers of your loved ones. Today, we proudly declare that the new trainee Constables on parade have successfully completed the BPDLP. They are competent and have met the required standards to embark on their respective policing careers.
To our trainee Constables, thank you for displaying the conduct expected of well-trained police officers. Congratulations on your decision to serve and protect the residents of our beautiful country South Africa, guided by our constitutional mandate as stipulated in Section 205 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa. As you go out on your deployments, we trust you will carry with you the valuable theoretical and practical lessons learned. Above all, we encourage you to always be mindful of the SAPS Code of Conduct; remember how to conduct yourself in this esteemed uniform, maintain a high sense of self-discipline, and uphold ethical and professional standards. In closing, I would like to take a moment to thank the media for their support in amplifying our messages and keeping our citizens informed. Thank you to members of the media across all platforms, including those ordinary citizens viewing these proceedings via our live streaming links. Your presence is greatly appreciated. I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May God bless and protect you all. Thank you!
