Vilakazi Warns Langelihle Phili About Kaizer Chiefs Pressure Ahead of Naturena Move
Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Benedict “Tso” Vilakazi has issued a strong warning ahead of Langelihle Phili’s reported move to Kaizer Chiefs, predicting that the young midfielder could struggle to make an impact at Naturena.
Phili is believed to have completed a move to Amakhosi, although the club has not yet officially confirmed his signing. While many supporters are hoping the midfielder can become a key figure in Chiefs’ rebuild, Vilakazi believes the player could face serious challenges if he does not receive enough support from his teammates.
According to the former Bucs star, Phili’s potential struggles will not be because of a lack of talent, but rather because of the pressure that comes with wearing the famous Kaizer Chiefs jersey.
“On Phili, let me tell you even before he wears the Chiefs jersey, he will struggle,” Vilakazi said.
“He is going to struggle the same way all the players who went to Chiefs with high hopes struggled.”
Vilakazi explained that even the most talented individuals cannot succeed without a strong team around them. He compared Phili’s situation to his own work environment, highlighting the importance of support and teamwork.
“Let me make an example of us here at iDiski TV. I cannot do everything alone. I need a team. I cannot ask myself questions, operate the camera and do everything by myself,” he said.
“The same applies to Phili. He is going to need support. He will need players who can win the ball for him. He will need teammates who make runs when he has possession so that he can create scoring opportunities.”

“He will become one of those players who carry the entire team on their shoulders.”
According to Vilakazi, placing too much responsibility on Phili could affect his confidence and performances, leading supporters to unfairly judge him.
“That burden will be too heavy for him. He won’t perform well, and then the fans will say he has failed at Chiefs,” he said.
