KIMBERLEY – The hard work and perseverance by Detective Sergeant Basil Abrahams of the Victoria West Detective Unit, secured the murder conviction of Danster Jansen (38). On Saturday, 10 February 2024 at approximately 19:20, police attended a murder scene on a farm outside Victoria West. Upon arrival, the body of Dawid Brummer (29) was discovered with stab wounds. Jansen was subsequently arrested and denied bail. On Thursday, 29 August 2024, the accused was convicted and sentenced in the Victoria West Regional Court to ten (10) years’ imprisonment. Contact crimes remain a priority for the SAPS and detectives will reinforce efforts to ensure hefty sentences. Ends
