Victor Mthethwa Majola has been formally charged with the premeditated murder of popular media personality DJ Warras, marking a major development in a case that has gripped South Africa.

Majola appeared in court on the charge of premeditated murder, following the fatal shooting of DJ Warras in Johannesburg on 16 December 2025. The court heard that the matter has been postponed to 6 January 2026 to allow for further legal processes.

Majola is expected to apply for bail at his next appearance. The State has indicated that it will oppose any bail application, citing the seriousness of the charge and the interests of justice.
In a further development, prosecutors confirmed that charges against a second suspect linked to the case have been provisionally withdrawn. The National Prosecuting Authority has not ruled out the possibility of reinstating charges should new evidence emerge.

DJ Warras, whose real name was Warrick Stock, was a well known DJ, radio presenter, and television personality. His killing sent shockwaves through the media and entertainment industry, prompting an outpouring of grief and tributes from colleagues, artists, and fans across the country.
As the legal process unfolds, public interest in the case remains high, with many closely watching the upcoming bail proceedings and the State’s case against Majola.

The matter returns to court in January as investigations continue.
