POTCHEFSTROOM – The integrated “Vala Umgodi” operations led to the arrest of four suspects between Monday, 16 and Tuesday, 17 September 2024, in Sun City. All four suspects were nabbed for contravention of Section 49 (1)(a) of the Immigration Act, (Act No. 13 of 2002) and will appear before the Mankwe Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 19 September 2024. During the operations, the team seized illegal mining equipment such as generators, spades, mining equipment like jack hammers and drills and pendukas. The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Sello Kwena, welcomed the arrests and thanked the members for their continued efforts in the fight against illicit activities. Ends
