The 42-year-old police sergeant arrested in connection with the kidnapping case of Kamogelo Baukudi (19) briefly appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on the 9 June and remains in custody.
According to the Free State Policespokesperson Brigadier Motantsi Makhele the case has been postponed to 13 June 2025 for bail information and further investigation.
Makhele said: At this stage, the identity of the accused cannot be revealed, as ordered by the court informed by the request from the investigating team.

Kamogelo Baukudi was kidnapped on Thursday, 5 June 2025 and remains missing. The SAPS continues to prioritize his safe return as a matter of utmost urgency.
