Update on the deceased allegedly involved in a hit and run incident in Bela Bela

POLOKWANE – The deceased African female, who was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident that occurred on 26 May 2024 at approximately 09:00 along the R101 in Bela-Bela area has been identified.

The victim was positively identified by her next of kin as Rosina Lerato Mochibi (22) from Vaalwater in Waterberg District.

She was discovered on the side of the road by community members with multiple injuries consistent with a motor vehicle accident.

Police have since opened a case of murder and they are still appealing to members of the community with information regarding the incident to contact the Investigating Officer Captain Dana Smith on 081 577 4383 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111. Information can also be provided anonymously via the MySAPS app.

The SAPS would like to remind the public that all information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
