POLOKWANE – Police in Tzaneen are investigating a case of attempted murder and robbery with a firearm that took place at a farm in Tzaneen, on Thursday, 16 May 2024. The victim was walking at the farm with his friend, when an unknown African male emerged from the bushes and approached them while holding a firearm. He then demanded the cellphones from the two victims. He further instructed them to put down their cellphones, and they did as instructed, as soon as he picked up the cellphones that was on the ground, one victim attempted to take away the firearm and the suspect fired one shot. The victims managed to escape from the suspect in a different direction. Second victim realized that he had been shot on left leg, he then went to the nearby hospital for medical treatment. Later on, they reported the incident to the police, and an attempted murder and robbery with firearm case was opened. The police are urging anyone with information that can assist with the arrest of the suspect to contact, Detective Commander Colonel Zitha Phoyisa on 082 414 3309, crime stop number 08600 10111, the nearest police station, or share information on MySAPSApp.
