Two suspects set to appear in court for the illegal possession of firearms

CAPE TOWN – On Tuesday, 28 May 2024, members of the Anti-Gang Unit who are deployed in Samora Machel due to sporadic shooting incidents, conducted crime prevention operations when they received information about firearms that are hidden at a premises in the Magwaza informal settlement.  The members followed up the information and searched the identified dwelling upon which they found two firearms with ammunition.

Two suspects aged 21 and 23 were arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

They will appear in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 31 May 2024, on the mentioned charges.
