FREE STATE – Gordon Ntsala (49) and Vincent Ntsala (29) were convicted and sentenced to 22 years imprisonment each for murder and kidnapping. On Saturday, 14 December 2019, at about 08:00, the police received a complaint from Fezi Ngubentombi Hospital regarding an African male who was brought to the hospital by a motorist. The victim, identified as Molefi Zali, then 28 years old, was found bleeding and lying near DP De Villiers stadium, Sasolburg. He had sustained multiple injuries. Later that day, at around 10:00, Detective Sergeant Seaparo from the Sasolburg Detectives interviewed the victim at the hospital. According to the victim, the incident occurred in the early hours of the same day, around 05:40. He arrived at his home when he was assaulted by two unknown males accusing him of committing housebreaking and theft. He was assaulted with a knobkirrie and stabbed with a knife. The suspects then took the victim in a bakkie to the second location, where they kept on assaulting him, and eventually, they left him for dead, bleeding near DP De Villiers stadium, Sasolburg. The victim succumbed to his injuries on his way to Pelonomi hospital. Sergeant Frank Seaparo, attached to the Sasolburg detectives, worked tirelessly with Sasolburg SAPS members to ensure that the suspects end behind bars.
The Sasolburg Magistrate Court has convicted and sentenced the two suspects to 22 years imprisonment each for murder and kidnapping on Friday, 24 January 2025.
