Two suspects appeared in court for contravention of the Immigration Act following their arrest during Operation Vala Umgodi

NELSPRUIT – Two suspects, aged 44 and 46, appeared before the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 08 April 2025, subsequent to their arrest during Operation Vala Umgodi in Ermelo on 06 April 2025.

According to a report, members were conducting stop and searches in Ermelo. It was during this time when the team apprehended the two males and charged them for contravention of the ImmigrationAct of South Africa.

The two suspects were remanded in custody and are expected to appear again at the same court on Friday, 11 April 2025. The two have been identified as Kevin Enoma (44) and Emeliano Agostine Joao (46).

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr.) Zeph Mkhwanazi appreciated the huge impact made in tackling illegal mining activities.
