Media Statement POLOKWANE – Two foreign national suspects aged 38 and 45, believed to be part of a significant drug syndicate are scheduled to appear before Modimolle Magistrate’s on Monday, 22 July 2024. The arrests were made as part of an ongoing operation targeting organized crime and narcotics trafficking across Limpopo Province. Following a lengthy investigation about a drug syndicate operating in Modimolle, a targeted operation was conducted on Friday, 19 July 2024 comprising the Provincial Organised Crime Unit, Technical Response Team, Local Criminal Record Centre and local detectives.The 45-year-old suspect was arrested at his residence in Phagameng location and crystal meth and cocaine drugs worth the estimated street value of R2000-00. were seized during the raid. His accomplice (38) was nabbed at Extention 10 Subsequent investigations uncovered substantial evidence linking them to the distribution network of illegal narcotics within the community. The duo will face charges related to possession and dealing in illicit drugs. The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has vowed that police will continue to work tirelessly to fight against drug-related crime and ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens of this province.
More arrests are imminent as Police investigations unfold.
