Two South African Men Arrested in US on Child S*xual Abuse Material Charges

Two South African men have been arrested in separate cases in the United States involving allegations of child s*xual abuse material (CSAM).

The arrests took place in Oklahoma and Ohio earlier this month, with both suspects facing multiple criminal charges.

In Oklahoma, 42-year-old Vico Waldemar DuToit, a South African national reportedly living in the US on a work visa, was arrested following an investigation by the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation began after authorities received reports from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about suspected child s*xual abuse material being uploaded online from the Dibble area.

Investigators allegedly linked the activity to DuToit, who reportedly admitted to sharing the material through the Kik messaging platform.

He faces several charges, including possession of child s*xual abuse material and offences relating to computer crimes. He was reportedly detained at the Grady County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

In a separate case in Ohio, 28-year-old Arno Venter, described as a South African refugee, was arrested following an online investigation involving the activist group Predator Poachers.

The group confronted Venter at a Walmart store where he worked, accusing him of exchanging explicit material with someone he allegedly believed was a minor.

Police subsequently seized his cellphone for forensic examination.

Venter was booked into custody on 21 October on three counts of pandering obscenity and one count of possessing criminal tools.

The two cases are unrelated, and both men are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
