Media Statement POLOKWANE – Community involvement and vigilance led to the arrest of two foreign female national suspects, aged 37 and 44, in Seshego outside Polokwane on Friday 12 July 2024, following their attempt to sell a Pangolin for R 125 000-00. Members of the community provided crucial information to the police alerting them to the illegal activity. Acting on a tip-off, members of Visible Policing joined by Environmental Affairs conducted a sting operation and arrested the two suspects attempting to sell the Pangolin at Green Side, Seshego extension. The dead endangered species was recovered. The suspects will appear before Seshego Magistrate’s Court on 15 July 2024, where they will be facing charges of contravention of the National Environmental Management Biodiversity Act 10 of 2004.
