Media Statement POLOKWANE – The ongoing fight against drug related crimes in the Limpopo Province, continues to yield positive results. This follows the apprehension of two suspects, aged between 27 and 32, at Senwabarwana and Polokwane Policing area,Capricorn District for dealing and possession of drugs. In Senwabarwana, a 27-year-old was arrested, by members of Provincial Organised Crime members received information about the suspect dealing in drugs. Leads were positively followed, he was found in the act of dealing in drugs at Senwabarwana Complex. They searched him and found 50 sachets of suspected heroin with an estimated street value of R2, 000.00 and an undisclosed amount of money. In Polokwane, members of Capricorn Flying Squad nabbed a 32-year-old male suspect for possession and dealing in drugs at corner Devenish and Dahl streets. The Police were alerted about a silver Toyota vehicle, distributing drugs around Polokwane. They promptly followed the information and the said vehicle was spotted and tactically approached. The suspect was cornered and searched. He was found in possession of nyaope drugs and rock, of an estimated street value of R15 000.00 (fifteen thousand rands). The silver Toyota vehicle, was also confiscated. The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, applauded the teams for dealing decisively with drug dealers in the Province. The suspects are expected to appear before Senwabarwana and Polokwane Magistrate courts on Monday, 13 May 2024, facing charges of dealing and possession of drugs.
