ROSENDAL – Two suspects are in police custody for possession of a stolen Ford Ranger in Rosendal. It was on 31 August 2024 at about 04:10 when a 37-year-old Ford Ranger owner arrived at his place in Hennenman with his wife. Three unknown suspects allegedly threatened them with a firearm and drove off with the bakkie worth R 900 000-00 as well as the victim’s wife. The victim’s wife was dropped at Welkom graveyard unharmed and she returned home to her husband. Police in Hennenman activated neighbouring stations to be on the lookout for the stolen bakkie. At about 20:30 on the same day, police in Rosendal, with the assistance of Senekal, managed to trace the vehicle in Rosendal. Two males aged between 35 and 40 were apprehended and the bakkie recovered. Police are still to apprehend the third suspect, who is still on the run. The suspects are expected to appear before Rosendal Magistrates’ Court soon, facing charges of possession of a stolen vehicle. Ends
