Residents in parts of Tshwane should prepare for a planned water maintenance on Wednesday, 23 July, as the city carries out urgent upgrades to its water network. The scheduled maintenance will last from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., affecting several areas, including Erasmus Extensions 4, 5, 8, 15, 19, 20, 21, and 25, as well as Cultura Park Extension 11, Kristalpark, and Versterpark AH.
The city explained that this work is necessary to improve infrastructure and ensure a more reliable water supply in the future. Officials have assured the public that every effort will be made to complete the work on time to minimize disruption.
In the meantime, residents are encouraged to use water wisely. This includes avoiding watering gardens during the day, not washing cars with hosepipes, and refraining from filling swimming pools. Households are also urged to make grey water a regular part of their routine for tasks like flushing toilets and watering plants.
The city has also reminded residents to report water leaks, burst pipes, or any signs of water wastage, and recommended installing water-saving devices where possible.
While the city apologizes for the temporary inconvenience, it emphasized that the maintenance is crucial for creating a more sustainable and efficient water system for everyone.
