Trump says Israel met Gaza ceasefire obligations and warns Hamas of consequences

United States President Donald Trump has said Israel fully complied with its obligations under the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire framework, while issuing a warning to Hamas over future compliance.

Trump made the remarks following discussions on Middle East developments, saying Israel had met all requirements outlined in the initial stage of the ceasefire agreement. He added that Hamas would face serious consequences if it failed to disarm or comply with subsequent phases.

The comments come amid fragile ceasefire conditions in Gaza and continued international mediation aimed at preventing further escalation. Trump’s statement reinforced the United States’ position that accountability must apply equally to all parties involved.

Trump said Hamas had an opportunity to demonstrate good faith but warned that continued non compliance would not be tolerated. He did not specify what measures could follow but stressed that the United States would continue to support Israel’s security.

The statement reflects Washington’s broader policy approach toward Gaza, which prioritises Israel’s right to self defence while calling for stability and adherence to negotiated frameworks.

Hamas has not issued an immediate response to Trump’s remarks.

The situation remains fluid as regional and international actors continue efforts to stabilise the ceasefire and address humanitarian concerns.
