CHRIS HANI – During the Safer Festive Season Operation conducted between 27 December and 28 December 2024 Chris Hani District Task Team apprehended three suspects aged between 33 and 45 for allegations of possession and dealing in drugs at Mlungisi Location, Komani. In a venture to ensure safer festive season, the Chris Hani District Task Team once more engaged in a search and seizure operation of a number of persons’ homestead and vehicles around Mlungisi area. Among homesteads searched, three of them were found to be hosting drugs where upon the three owners were arrested on the spot and charged for possession and dealing in drugs. 78 mandrax tablets and 5 grams of ‘tik’ with a collective estimated cash value of more than R8500-00 were recovered from the three homesteads The trio is expected to make its first appearance at Komani Magistrate Court on Monday, 30 December 2024. The Task Team which is hell bent to create a drug free community is once more lauded by the District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph as the consumption of drugs contributes to the commission of heinous crimes rampant in the area.
