Members of Provincial Flying Squad recovered a black Kia Sonet worth about R400 000 and arrested a 33-year-old male suspect for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle, along the N1 next to a filling station, on Friday, 15 August 2025.
The members, together with security company, received an alert about a black Kia Sonet vehicle that was reportedly stolen this month, August 2025, at Gauteng province, Bramley Policing area.
The team spotted the vehicle traveling at a high speed along the N1 South road. They intercepted it, and the driver was found alone.
Following preliminary investigations, it was established that the vehicle was fitted with a false registration plate. He was arrested for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle after he failed to produce the authentic documentation of the ownership of the vehicle.
The suspect will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 18 August 2025.
