Tragic Mbombela Outing Ends in Suspected Murder-Suicide
The family of Silingene Motha has shared a harrowing account of how a weekend trip to an event in Mbombela ended in the tragic deaths of Motha and her partner, Sandile Nkosi, in a suspected murder-suicide.
According to family members, Motha left home on Saturday to attend the Hello Summer event in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, alongside Nkosi.
Information gathered by the family indicates that the couple returned in the early hours of Sunday morning, heading directly to Nkosi’s home.
It was there that both were discovered deceased.
Motha was found still seated in the front passenger seat of the vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body.
Nkosi was found lying on the side of the car with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Local police have confirmed that they are investigating the incident.
Preliminary findings suggest that Nkosi shot Motha before turning the gun on himself, though formal investigations remain ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
