A tragic incident unfolded this afternoon in the Phuthanang area of Kimberley, where a 14-year-old boy lost his life after drowning in an open ditch. The site, believed to have been left exposed by a construction company working on pipe repairs, has now become the focus of a police investigation.
According to early reports, the boy had been swimming with a friend at the Gogga pump when he disappeared under the water. His friend immediately ran to get help when he failed to resurface, but sadly, rescue came too late.
