Five family members lost their lives in a devastating car accident on Sunday morning while rushing an injured relative to the hospital.
The accident happened on Eddie Hagen Drive in Cato Ridge, west of Durban, when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into a concrete drain. The impact was so severe that the car split in half.
Emergency responders arrived just before 6 a.m. and found six people involved in the crash. Four individuals were declared dead at the scene, while a fifth victim went into cardiac arrest during rescue efforts and could not be revived.
