A video is circulating of a bunch of prisoners on the Boksburg Correctional Centre who grew to become unruly and retaliated towards a compulsory search operation and barricaded a sectional gate in a bid to cover their unlawful cellphones on Monday, 2 January 2023.
Singabakho Nxumalo, Spokesperson Department of Correctional Services (DCS), says this was in retaliation to a compulsory looking out operation by the DCS National Task Team as a part of its Festive Season Security Operation.

Hillbrow robbers CAUGHT within the act by undercover unit
After being seen on video strangling and robbing members of the general public, a gang of robbers in Hillbrow was caught within the act on 1 January 2023.
The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) recommended the IIOC Undercover Reaction Unit for its swift response.

An off-duty #Project10K new Constable received to a flying begin when she effected her debut arrest on Tuesday, 03 January 2023 by arresting suspected SASSA fraudsters.
According to the police, the vigilant officer was on the Mangrove Centre in North Beach, Durban when she noticed three suspicious-looking girls who have been withdrawing cash on the ATM.
“The young officer requested back-up from the Metro Police officers who were in the vicinity and tactically approached the suspects.”

Several hikers have been airlifted in separate events on Monday, 2 January 2023, this features a 2-year-old who was airlifted from a seashore.
It was a busy day for the Western Cape Department of Health EMS/AMS rescue helicopter.
The helicopter was dispatched to Platteklip Gorge for the primary rescue to airlift a hiker who had collapsed whereas mountaineering.

Two kids have been airlifted after a near-drowning incident in Randburg on Tuesday, 3 January 2023.
Emer-G-Med paramedics responded to a residential premises within the Randburg space at roughly 15:20 for studies of a drowning.
Two younger boys, a three-year-old and an 18-month-old, have been found in crucial situation after being submerged within the household swimming pool.
