Stage 16 load shedding could be implemented this winter
South Africans may soon face Stage 16 load shedding with power cuts of up to 32 hours.
This comes after a document titled “voluntary” NRS048-9 edition 3, which would, in unforeseen emergency circumstances, allow Eskom to implement drastic load shedding beyond stage 8, is currently being finalised by the National Regulatory Services Association of SA, a voluntary association assisting with regulating load shedding.

Russian party says there will be ‘WAR’ if SA arrests Putin
The leading political party in Russia reportedly warned the South African government not to arrest Russia’s President Vladamir Putin when he comes to the country for the BRICS summit later this year.
The International Criminal Court (ICC) earlier this month issued an arrest warrant for Putin, accusing him of the war crime of illegal deportation of children from Ukraine. The alleged crimes were committed in occupied Ukrainian territory from at least 24 February 2022.

Gauteng government is looking to hire 6 000 people to fix potholes
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi is set to employ 6 000 people to fix potholes in the province.
According to The Citizen, Lesufi made the announcement on Sunday, 14 May in Dobsonville during the provincial government’s initiation of the “green army,” a Cleaning and Greening Expanded Public Works Programme.
The green army will conduct clean-ups, collect waste from households, recyclable and non-recyclable, support waste pickers, and recycle buy-back centres. They will also provide environmental support through greening initiatives.

AKA: KZN police slam ‘unfounded’ reports about murder weapon
KwaZulu-Natal police have once again slammed allegations they say are unfounded regarding ongoing investigations into the murder of renowned South African rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes and Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.
According to reports, the gun linked to the murder of the rapper was found in Umlazi and a suspect has been arrested.
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in KwaZulu-Natal, Colonel Robert Netshiunda said some media houses, who clearly seemingly hell-bent to botch any police endeavours in finding the killers and bring justice to the families of the victims.
