POLOKWANE – Three suspects, Takutso Dube (31), Johannes Imbayo (38), and their female accomplice Mercy Masungiso (27), appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 30 August facing charges of stock theft, malicious damage to property, and contravening the Immigration Act. The trio was remanded in custody until 17 September 2024 for further police investigations. They were arrested on 29 August 2024, after being caught cutting stolen cow meat at a house in Greenside, Westenburg policing area, outside Polokwane. The police received a tip-off about individuals selling meat at the house and found the suspects packaging the meat into black plastic bags. Further investigation revealed that the two cattle were stolen from Moletjie Moshate the previous night, and a case of stock theft was registered at Seshego Police Station. The case was transferred to the Endangered Species and Stock Theft Unit. A bakkie used to transport the stolen meat was also confiscated. The investigation continues. Ends
